According to TrendForce's report, this move is to "cut costs and stabilize retail prices." Since iPhone 12 supports 5G and some models support millimeter wave networks, the material cost of iPhone 12 is likely to be higher than previous models. TrendForce pointed out that not providing these two accessories by default will "help Apple's sales performance."  Canceling the provision of EarPods could promote the sales of AirPods wireless headsets.
